2014 Nissan Frontier Review

In 2005 Nissan for the first time, presented its mid-size truck called Frontier. This truck has very quickly become a favorite among fans of mid-size trucks. Lately on the car market there are fewer vehicles in this class. The only real competitor to the Frontier is the Toyota Tacoma. Regardless of this fact Nissan has decided to still be competitive in this class and announced the introduction of the new 2014 Nissan Frontier. They announced that the new model will retain a traditional look that is recognizable since the very first presentation. The only difference is that the aerodynamics of the new model will be improved with a view to improve fuel efficiency. The interior will be more comfortable, especially in the rear bench (the model with the Crew Cab). As far as choice of the engine it is assumed that there will be no changes.

New 2014 Nissan Frontier trim levels

New 2014 Nissan Frontier comes with five trim levels: S, SV, SL, Desert Runner and PRO-4X. S model is the basic version, which also has a rich enough trim package, but if you want that your mid-size truck has all equipment available in the market you will choose the strongest PRO-4X version. It will still be available with two cabs options, the King Cab and the Crew Cab. Crew Cab version has a rear bench and its more convenient for owners who transport more than two passengers. For all versions, except basic S manual sliding rear windows have been added as standard equipment. It has already been noted that the 2014 Nissan Frontier offers more passenger comfort than its predecessor.

If increased space is not a sufficient reason to buy the new model you will surely be delight with the information that heated front seats are add to the SV VTP package. Also heated cloth front seat are available as standard on PRO-4X and optional on SV. If we talk about technological advances that follow 2014 Nissan Frontier should be noted that the manual air conditioning, cruise control and steering wheel controls, front sunglass holder, Bluetooth microphone, Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System and upgraded audio system are standard with all versions. The new model also offers enhanced navigation system.

Engine and fuel efficiency

Under the hood of 2014 Nissan Frontier should expect two versions of the engine. A weaker version is 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine that delivers 152-horsepower. Stronger one is already well known 4.0-liter DOHC V6 engine that delivers 261 horsepower with 281 lb-ft of torque. Power to the wheels will be done via a 6-speed manual transmission or 5-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission. Also 5-speed manual transmission will be available but only in a pair with 2.5-liter engine. All-wheel drive is available only for versions with a V6 engine. Fuel efficiency is in the range of 15 mpg city and 21 mpg highway (4×4 V-6 automatic models) to 19 mpg city and 23 mpg highway (4×2 four-cylinder manual models). These data are expected since we are talking about a truck. If you need a car that will exceed more miles every day you should consider a vehicle from another class.

Price and release date

Price is still not exactly known, but given that we are talking only about cosmetic corrections it should be similar as with the previous model. This means that for the model with King Cab price will be in range of $ 17.990 and $ 29.350, and for the model with Crew Cab between $ 22,000 and $ 33.800. In any case, we will soon find out the exact price and be able to make sure in all qualities of the new 2014 Nissan Frontier because its release date is scheduled for October 2013th.
