Company Nissan in 2003 for the first time presented its model Murano. This is a 5-passenger midsize crossover SUV. It was primarily designed for the North American market. When it first time appeared with wildly curvaceous look featured a rounded front-end treatment with a swept-back grille and cat’s eye headlamps it was a surprise for everybody. In those times SUVs mostly had square-jawed design. Nissan announced the third generation Murano for the year 2015. As we found out, once again we can expect surprise when it comes to design. Designers have once again decided to completely redesign the exterior. It is assumed that under the hood will still have V6 engine, and the drive will be transferred to the front or all-wheels depending on the version. Statistic says that crossovers are second most selling vehicles, behind midsize cars and we don’t have doubt that when it comes 2015 Nissan Murano will be real hit.
2015 Nissan Murano new look
2015 Nissan Murano will get a brand new, futuristic look. It will have advanced aerodynamic airflow management that will improve the vehicle’s fuel economy. The front of the vehicle will be dominated by the large grille and broad lower air dam. Grille will be flanked by boomerang-shaped headlamps that reach far up and into the broad-shouldered front fenders. We assume that rear end will be also drastically changed compared to the previous generation (shown on pictures), but we have no precise information what Nissan’s designers are preparing in that area.
It is expected that interior will be drastically changed too. Sculpted dashboard will be dominated by a large touch screen display. The display will be a combination of navigation and infotainment system. Although we still have no precise information, it is expected that the new 2015 Nissan Murano will be full with new gadgets that will satisfy everyone’s needs. We expect that it will be equipped with Nissan’s Hands-Free Text Messaging Assistant and full smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth.
It is assumed that it will continue to have only two benches which mean that it will be able to accommodate five passengers. Comfort will be guaranteed because the seats utilize a unique articulated seat shape with continuous support from the pelvis to the chest.
2015 Nissan Murano under the hood
There have been no indications that it is going to be any changes when it comes to the engine. This means that in the new 2015 Nissan Murano we can expect a 3.5-liter V6 engine that will deliver 275 hp. Since we live in the age when fuel economy is quite important there is a possibility that in Nissan opt for some other version of the engine. In this case, we can expect a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that delivers 182 hp. This engine is widely used in the new Nissan Altima. Besides this engine we would not be surprised to see 1.6-liter turbo engine that delivers 188hp inside new 2015 Nissan Murano. In any case, no matter which engine that is under the hood of Nissan’s new crossover it is likely to be paired with the latest version of Nissan’s gearless CVT automatic transmission. Transmission will be delivered on front wheels or on all-wheels depending on owner’s choice.
When we talk about security we can expect that the 2015 Nissan Murano will be equipped with a forward collision warning system that will automatically apply the brakes if necessary. It is possible that, as an option be offered and the Backup Collision Intervention system that automatically applies the brakes to prevent hitting a pedestrian or other obstacle while the car is in reverse gear.
2015 Nissan Murano expected price
Expected price of the new 2015 Nissan Murano will be about $ 33,000 for a model with standard equipment. For the full trim version new owners will probably have to pay close to $ 45,000.
